The New
Foxtrot Serenaders is a seven-piece British Dance Band featuring popular songs
and dance music from the 1920s to the 1940s. Their repertoire also includes earlier
songs - take 'Look Down, Look Down that Lonesome Road' from 1865 for example -
and some later songs, albeit in the earlier jazz style. The music conjures up
memories of great singers and songwriters such as Bessie Smith, George Gershwin,
Jelly Roll Morton, Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin and
many more.
