Sir Harry Secombe
C. B. E, was born in Swansea, South Wales on September 8th 1921 and entertained
the public with his Goon humour and Welsh tenor voice for over half a century
before his death on April 11th 2001.
The
Barn Theatre, Oxted is delighted to welcome this mainly musical show which sets
out to keep alive the wonderful legacy of the great songs and humour recorded
and performed by Sir Harry. Welsh tenor Paul Kaye uses his soaring voice to fill
the theatre with the spirit of this musical celebration and the humour is provided
by Mike Jerome the long established comedian; known all over the world for his
character "The International Toyboy" The show traces Sir Harry's life, his music
and his fabulous humour from the humble beginnings in Swansea through the war
years and eventually into our homes via television.
The
Show was conceived and written by Paul Kaye and Mike Jerome and Directed by Bob
Mayston. Musical Production is by Chris Summerfield.
